it is launched by govt of India for affordable veterinary medicine for livestock ,it is a part of livestock health & disease control program (LHDCP ), total budget Rs 3880 cr for 2024-25 to 2025-26.
total Rs 75cr is allocated for affordable veterinary medicine ,it is based on janaushadhi kendras which will provide generic medicine at affordable prices ,each year 7th march celebrated as Janaushadhi diwas..
It will run buy cooperative societies & PM KISAN Samriddhi kendras ,it includes Ethnos veterinary medicine based on traditional & indigenous knowledge ,also NDDB has compiled a list of herbal treatment for mastitis ,fever & worms ..
Why Launched :
. At present India has total 535.78 million livestock with respect to 2019 census
it will help to reduce economic cost of farmers by saving their cattle’s with FMD, Brucellosis ,pest des petits ruminants & lumpy skin disease
