The 15th BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) took place on April 17, 2025, in Brasilia, Brazil .

- Indian Delegation: The Indian delegation was led by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development .
- Theme: The theme of the 15th BRICS AMM was “Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Agriculture through Cooperation, Innovation, and Equitable Trade among BRICS Countries” .
- Participants: Agriculture Ministers and senior officials from BRICS member countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran—were expected to attend .
- Bilateral Meetings: Shri Chouhan held bilateral meetings with Brazilian counterparts, including Mr. Carlos Henrique Baqueta Fávaro, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, and Mr. Luiz Paulo Teixeira, Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA) . These meetings focused on strengthening collaboration between India and Brazil in agriculture, agri-technology, rural development, and food security .
- Additional Engagements: Shri Chouhan interacted with leaders from major Brazilian agribusiness companies and representatives from the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries in São Paulo . He also participated in a tree plantation drive at the Embassy of India in Brasilia, as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative . Additionally, he engaged with the Indian diaspora in São Paulo .
