India-Singapore 2025 Summit

The India-Singapore 2025 Summit took place in early September 2025 in New Delhi with significant agreements and a roadmap set for a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between the two countries , Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in New Delhi.

Key Outcomes of the Summit

  1.  India expressed interest in patrolling the Malacca Strait as Maritme Security , a strategic chokepoint connecting the Indian Ocean and the Pacific.
  2. Collaboration in submarine rescue operations, support for the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI).
  3. Joint research and cooperation in quantum computing, artificial Intelligence, automation & unmanned vessels etc for Defence & Emerging Technologies.
  4. Agreement to export green energy from India to Singapore through dedicated ports to promote Economic & Infrastructure Cooperation through India–Singapore policy dialogue on semiconductors established & Enhanced cooperation in space research and applications.
  5.  Agreement to set up a National Centre of Excellence for Skilling in Advanced Manufacturing in Chennai to Promote Skilling & Advanced Manufacturing ..

Strategic Importance of Malacca Strait

  1. Nearly 40% of India’s trade and 80% of China’s oil imports pass through it.
