Agritech innovation hubs in Meerut , Uttar Pradesh

  • Uttar Pradesh Agritech Innovation Hub (Meerut): An Agritech Innovation Hub was inaugurated in Meerut , at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT) on July 8, 2025. This hub focuses on promoting precision farming and sustainable agriculture through technologies like IoT sensors, smart irrigation systems, and automation technologies, in collaboration with IIT Ropar. The hub emphasizes training and capacity building for farmers and rural youth, working with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
  • Agri-Clinics & Agri-Business MGES AGRA Training: Located in Agra, this organization offers expert services and advice to farmers, focusing on technology dissemination, crop protection, and market trends. They provide training in business planning, agritech, and access to loans and subsidies.
  • Agri Agro: This company provides turnkey project solutions for hi-tech greenhouse projects, including designing and establishing various types of greenhouses, and assisting in producing diverse greenhouse crops. While not explicitly an innovation hub, their services support advanced agricultural practices in the region.
  • Jaivik Vistara: This Agra-based company focuses on millet-based superfoods and promotes organic and healthy food options, contributing to the agri-food innovation space.

  • “Krishi Bharat” Global Farmers’ Summit: The UP government has planned a global farmers’ summit in November 2024 to promote agri startups and integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into farming practices. This event in Lucknow aims to attract foreign investment and expertise.
  • UP Agritech Policy: A dedicated “UP Agritech Policy” was approved in July 2024, focusing on enhancing value chains and supporting agri-startups.
  • Digital Agriculture Promotion Council (DAEP): Formed in collaboration with the World Economic Forum C4IR India, this council focuses on utilizing digital agriculture strategies and promoting best practices.
  • Agri Sarathi” Digital Platform: This platform has reached thousands of farmers, integrated women farmers, and supports traceability and commerce within the agricultural value chain.
