Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India, based on recent data:

  • March 2025: FDI in India increased by $5.938 billion in March 2025 .
  • H1 2024: Foreign direct equity investment saw a 45% increase, reaching Rs. 2,58,873 crore (US$ 29.8 billion) .
  • 2023: The total FDI inflow into India dropped to $70.9 billion in financial year 2023, a 1% decline from the previous year . India’s FDI for 2023 was $28.07 billion, a 43.79% decrease from 2022 .
  • Long-Term Growth: India’s FDI inflows have increased approximately 20 times from 2000-01 to 2023-24 . Over the last decade (April 2014 to September 2024), total FDI inflows amounted to $709.84 billion, accounting for 68.69% of the overall FDI .
