The 7th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) was held from May 4 to May 15, 2025..
- Host Cities: For the first time, Bihar hosted the games across five cities: Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Begusarai.
- Delhi’s Role: New Delhi hosted events in shooting, gymnastics, and track cycling.
- Participants: Around 5,000 athletes from all 36 states and Union Territories across India participated.
- Disciplines: The games featured 27 competitive sports and one demonstration sport, Esports. This included Olympic, non-Olympic, and indigenous sports like Mallakhamb, Yogasana, and Kho Kho.
- Mascot: The mascot of the games was Gajasimha.
- Inauguration: The Games were inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Winner:
- Maharashtra defended their title, topping the medal tally with 158 medals (58 gold, 47 silver, and 53 bronze),
- Haryana came in second with 117 medals, including 39 gold, while Rajasthan finished third with 60 medals, including 24 gold.
- Bihar’s Performance: Host state Bihar achieved its highest-ever medal count, securing 36 medals (7 gold, 11 silver, 18 bronze) and jumped to the 15th position from 21st in the previous edition.
