1) It was initiated by “nature forever” a bird conservation organization in 2010.
2) The aim was to raise awareness about decline population of sparrow. it has been now spread in about more than 50 countries.
3) The goal is to protect the sparrow and stop their decline.
4) In 2012 sparrow became the state bird of Delhi. since then this event has gain global attention. Sparrow name varies like “Goraiya” in hindi, “Kuruvi” in Tamil and Chirya in Urdu.
